Why Your Support Matters
In the 14 counties served by Feed My People, more than 46,000 individuals depend on FoodShare. When benefits were delayed beginning November 1, thousands of families were left without reliable funds to buy food. Even with FoodShare now restored, the road ahead is uncertain, and the need remains high.
To make sure no one went without food, we scaled up our entire operation. We filled our warehouse with a wide variety of nutritious food, leased additional trucks, brought on temporary staff, and even dipped into our reserves to meet the surge in demand. That preparation made it possible for us, and our network of partner pantries, to respond immediately when FoodShare benefits were delayed.
But hunger doesn’t disappear when benefits resume, and we can’t afford to downshift in the middle of what is still a volatile safety net. Every week, food continues to move out of our warehouse just as quickly as it comes in, driven by persistently high grocery costs and ongoing economic uncertainty.
